Amazon recently demonstrated how its Prime Air drone delivery will work at the MARS 2017 conference in Palm Springs, California.
As in Amazon's promotional videos, the drone flies in and lands on a target mat. It then drops off the package and takes off again. This is likely the first public demonstration of an Amazon Prime Air delivery in the United States.
The company's rollout of drone delivery is still hindered by the need for regulatory approval. Currently it's not permitted in the United States and government bodies have been slow to introduce regulations that would permit the service.
