Apple has extended the time you have to purchase AppleCare+ for iPhone from sixty days after purchase to one year.
Although the change has yet to be reflected on the company's website, MacRumors confirmed the new policy with a senior AppleCare advisor.
The one year purchase window now applies to Mac, Apple TV, and iPhone but does not yet apply to the iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch. Notably, the change is retro-active so if you purchased an iPhone within the last year, you are now eligible to get AppleCare+.
AppleCare+ for iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus costs $129. You'll need to have your device inspected in store or run a remote diagnostic to purchase AppleCare+ after the fact.
