Geohot has announced that the BlackSn0w iPhone unlock will be released today at noon EST.

What It Does
"blacksn0w is the unlock for the latest 05.11.07 baseband, and will also enable official tethering. blackra1n, a jailbreak for 3.1.2, has been updated to RC3, with hacktivation support, 15 second speed improvement, Tiger+PPC support, and installation of the latest blackra1n.app."

BlackRa1n Users
"If you are a loyal blackra1n user who kept the blackra1n.app on your iPhone, run it. You will see Icy replaced by an option "ra1n". Install this to upgrade your app. After upgrading, run blackra1n.app again. You will see "sn0w". Install this, and enjoy your unlocked iPhone."

New Users
"Go to blackra1n.com, click on the logo corresponding to your operating system, run the app, and click "make it ra1n". When your phone reboots, you'll see blackra1n.app. Run this, install blacksn0w, and enjoy your unlocked iPhone."

PwnageTool Users
"Sometime later in the sn0wday, blacksn0w will be added to Cydia, and instructions will be posted here."

iPhone 2G Users
BlackSn0w doesn't support the iPhone 2G. BootNeuter will work to unlock your iPhone with no difficulties. You can still use BlackRa1n to jailbreak and hacktivate.

I have blackra1n still installed on my iPhone, instructions say run the app, how do you run the app?? I clicked on app and all I get it Cydia, Rock & Icy. How do I get sn0w app without removing blackra1n.

Hi, I'm running 3.1 with Blackrain jail break, Should i upgrade to 3.1.2 and run Blackra1n again, would this give me any benefit at all? Thanks

I DID USE BLACKRA1N TO JAILBREAK MY 3G IPHONE BUT I CANT GET INTO THE IPHONE MENU, ITS WROTE EMERGENCY CALL ONLY WHAT SOULD I DO TO GET INTO THE MENU AND INSTALL BLACKSNOW. PLZ HELP ME

Insert AT&T sim and connect to itunes and activate it....if not use a custom.ipsw hactivated downloaded and installed......

Hi, I used Blackrain to jail break my 3g iphone though there is no Blackrain App on the phone, do i need to install this app in order to unlock it? Thanks

I jailbreak my iphone 3g with redsn0w on firmware 3.0 then I upgrade firmware 3.1 from custom restore file, now i run Blackra1n it successfully done but there is no blackra1n icon in my spring board. may I still able to unlock my iphone 3g.?? please reply

I think i know what's going on..............when we jail break our phone, we were told to delete blackrain once finish so we did. Hence why Blackrain app is no longer there, though Geohot did mentioned that Blacksnow will be available on Cyndia soon so for those of us who deleted the Blackrain app can then run blacksnow via Cyndia.

Hey, my phone is 1st gen and I was on 2.2 firmware jailbroken and unlocked. I installed 3.1.2 firmware. I then used Blackra1n RC3 by Geohot . It updated the firmware, but I had no need to unlock as the phone remained unlocked (but this is because I hadn't updated the firmware from 2.x.x to 3.0. Blackra1n RC3 by Geohot has to be the easiest piece of unlocking/jailbreaking software I've ever used.
