Apple May Be Planning to Launch an iPhone 6 Battery Exchange Program

Posted January 17, 2017 at 2:37pm by iClarified
Apple is rumored to be launching an iPhone 6 battery exchange program, reports Macotakara.

The exact reason for the program and what serial numbers it would cover is unknown.

Back in November, Apple launched a battery replacement program for iPhone 6s devices that were experiencing unexpected shutdowns. Don't forget to check if you're eligible for a free iPhone 6s battery replacement.

We'll let you know if a similar program surfaces for the iPhone 6. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

Had unexpected shutdowns on 6s. Not eligible for replacement based on serial. At Genius Bar the motherboard showed issues, got a new phone. Took my apple case of the old, showed signs of wear, nope factory quality issue. End result, new phone, new case. Perfect, I recommend everybody with issues to try their luck.

I've been an apple customer since the first iPhone was released. I know how a phone is supposed to work. After a few months of owning an iPhone 6, I started to get this battery issue. The phone would turn off at 35-50% and when the charger would be plugged back in, the phone would start back up at the percentage which it was turned off at (35-50%). I even took video of it and then made my appointment at the Apple Store. I took my phone, the rep did the diagnostic, said my battery was perfectly fine. I showed him the video, said "well, the diagnostic says it's fine. I asked to speak to a manager and the rep said "well, he will just tell you the same thing". Manager came, and of course, said the same thing, Mentioned that the diagnostic was showed the battery was fine and that customers usually come to just get a new (refurbished) phone. I was so furious. Ended up selling the phone and buying the 6s and of course, same issue with that phone. They said it was fine...and a few months later, Recall. Unbelievable.

Many users from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6S Plus is affected after iOS 10.2 Update. The new update is causing iPhone to shutdown when battery reaches 30%. There is a bug in iOS 10.2 which can't determine that there is still 30% power is left and it shuts off. Apple need to fix with new release but they are just busy in collecting profits on iPhone 7 & 7 Plus

In november 1015 I bought the 6s+ and my wife the 6s. In december my 6s+ started to die with 30% on the battery. I went to Appstore in Helsingborg,Sweden and they said it was 1 year and 33 days old so no help. 2 weeks later my wifes 6s starts to behave the same but sometimes at 75-80%. The last weekend at 0 deg/~32F my wifes phones dies and I took my phone to make a call and my phone dies! What the h/ll is going on here!

I'm pretty sure by eu law it's a 2 year warranty on electrical devices, might be worth a check and an argument with apple if that's the case

My 6 plus has issues with battery. My phone frequently drops from 60% down to 1% for about an hour then shuts down. Very annoying.

My iPhone 6 (not 6s) has constant battery problems. It cannot hold a charge for long. It will display 20% battery life and when I plug it in it shoots up to 36%. It will drop from 100% to 80% when I unplug it from a fresh charge in 20 minutes without using it.

From the original iPhone 6 to the iPhone 6S Plus, 98% of them have faulty batteries. If your iPhone is unexpectedly shutting off and the diagnostics pass it's still a bad battery. Restoring your iPhone and setting it up as new won't change anything., they they'll give you this BS runaround saying that it's most likely your logic board, that's BS as well. Demand a battery replacement, ask to speak to a manger and if they don't help call Apple Care and ask to speak to a supervisor.

They can swap your iPhone out for $79 or replace your battery for $79. Call Apple Care @1-800-My-Apple and speak to a tier two supervisor. Let them know that your iPhone is experiencing the same symptoms that are in the iPhone 6S battery program. They will issue you a CS code and replace your phone for free

My iPhone 6 is doing great on the battery front for a 1 & 1/2 yr old phone and hope it stays that way. Keeping an eye on it if this becomes real and I have to.
