Samsung to be Exclusive Supplier of OLED Panels for New iPhone?

Samsung will be the exclusive supplier of OLED panels for the new iPhones which will launch in 2017, according to a DigiTimes report. The company can supply a maximum of 20 million units a month, say Taiwan based sources.

Apple will launch 4.7-, 5.5- and 5.8-inch new iPhone models in second-half 2017, with TFT-LCD panels to be used in the former two models and AMOLED for the 5.8-inch one, the sources said. Global shipments of the AMOLED iPhone in 2017 are estimated at 60-70 million units, the sources noted.

Japan-based Nissha Printing will purportedly supply touch sensors for use in the AMOLED panels and bonding of the touch sensors and OLED panels will be done by Samsung Display or Taiwan-based TPK Holding and General Interface Solution.

The new iPhones are expected to enter production in small volumes in March 2017 with output increasing in May-June.

This sucks because then Samsung knows what Apple has planned

They only know the display, literally nothing else, they also will know the display size, apple factories will assemble the rest. So Samsung won't know anything.
