Apple's next generation iPhone will feature a re-engineered pressure sensitive Home button with haptic feedback, according to a new report from Bloomberg. The site also confirmed other new features for the iPhone 7 including a dual lens camera, no headphone jack, and simplified antenna bands.
A Bloomberg source who has used the device says that the dual lens camera will produce brighter photos with more detail. The dual lens systems sharpens photos taken in low light and lets you zoom while retaining more clarity.
Both sensors, which each capture color differently, simultaneously take a picture, and the device produces a single, merged photograph, said the person.
The new Home button is said to work similar to the Force Touch trackpad on Apple's recent MacBooks.
Current home buttons are switches that physically press into the phone, but the new models will have a pressure-sensitive button that provides feedback to the user via a vibrating haptic sensation rather than a true physical click, according to the people. This mechanism is similar to that of the trackpads on the latest MacBook line.
