Apple's next generation 'iPhone 7' will reportedly be released in retail stores on September 16th, according to Evan Blass, a well known leaker who goes by @evleaks on Twitter.

Previously, Blass revealed that the iPhone 7 would be released during the week of September 12th. The prediction generated some confusion as to whether he was referring to the launch (unveiling) of the device or its retail release.

Today he clarified this, tweeting:

Just to clarify, this refers to the retail release, not the launch event. To be even more specific, it should happen on Friday, Sept. 16th.

It's widely expected that the iPhone 7 will feature simplified antenna bands, a larger camera, no headphone jack, and a second speaker for stereo audio. The iPhone 7 Plus is expected to get a dual lens camera for better zoom, 3GB of RAM, and possibly a Smart Connector. Other predictions for both devices include water proofing, a new space black color, and a Force Touch Home button with haptic feedback.
