Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro may feature a power button with an embedded Touch ID sensor similar to the Home button on the iPhone, reports a 9to5Mac source.

We already know that macOS Sierra offers Auto Unlock when a Mac is in proximity to your Apple Watch, reducing the need for Touch ID on the Mac, but this would still be a useful feature for Mac owners without an Apple Watch. That source says the Touch ID sensor will be combined with the power button, which would certainly make sense.

The company is also said to be working on a major update to its notebook that will introduce an OLED touch bar which replaces the top row of function keys. A leak out of an Apple manufacturing partner in China produced photos of what is allegedly the top case for the new notebook.

To give us a better idea of what the new laptop might look like, designer Martin Hajek has posted some amazing renderings of a MacBook Pro with an OLED touch panel.

It's unclear when Apple plans to introduce the new device; however, rumors have suggested it could be soon. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
