The rumored dual lens camera will be exclusive to the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 7, reports KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a new research note, Kuo says "New iPhone shipments to be capped by similar form factor as iPhone 6s & 6s Plus; top hardware upgrade is dual-camera (5.5-inch model only), though many competing models with dual-camera will launch soon, joining others already on the market; first impressions could underwhelm."
We've already heard many rumors that Apple is working on a dual lens camera. Recently a leaked photo showed that the 5.5-inch iPhone had a pill shaped cutout rather than two separate cutouts for the camera.
A dual lens camera would allow Apple to bring a 2-3x optical zoom function to the device. Apple is already testing dual-lens camera samples from Largan Technology and other companies. Apple uses image sensors from Sony and is expected to integrate technology from its LinX acquisition into the camera for the iPhone 7.
