Apple has revealed its design for a beautiful new flagship store in Stockholm, Sweden. The design was shown by Wendy Beckman, head of Apple retail stores in Europe.
The store is just one story with glass walls on two sides. Apple will reportedly rebuild the fountain outside and make the area usable for the public even when the store is closed.
I had probably expected a glass cube in the style of the Fifth Avenue but the proposal is not as bragging. Just one floor and although the facade facing Hamngatan not entirely of glass have tried to keep the building to blend in, especially the side that faces the Royal Garden to. They want to rebuild the fountain outside with little amphitheater feel and even if the store will not be open around the clock so the cafe tables and the like outside to be available around the clock. It also promised wifi open around the clock.
