Developer Kevin Smith has managed to modify the Moonlight iOS project to stream games from Steam to the new Apple TV.
The Moonlight iOS project is an open source implementation of NVIDIA's GameStream, as used by the NVIDIA Shield, but built for iOS. Moonlight iOS allows you to stream your full collection of Steam games from your powerful desktop computer to your iOS Device.
Smith managed to modify the project to run on tvOS.
"So I thought I have a go at getting it up and running on tvOS. This is a very very quick and very dirty compilation of the code to tvOS and with complete disregard of the __TVOS_UNAVAILABLE restrictions (So no AppStore version unfortunately)"
His hack seems to work well as demonstrated by the videos below. Smith connected the Moonlight client to his PC running NVidia 970 (Sli) and streamed the game locally via wired ethernet.
