Dare to be Creative has announced the release of Renamer 4.0, an update to its batch file renaming application for Mac OS X. Designed by Apple Design Award Winner Dietmar Kerschner, the new Renamer combines a fresh, modern look with powerful renaming options such as chains and a system menu plugin.

The update marks the first release under the application's new name. "Although Renamer4Mac carried a strong brand name, we felt it was time for a simple, easy-to-remember name", explains Philipp Mayerhofer, Chief Operational Officer at Dare to be Creative the rebranding. As part of the rebranding effort, the company also recently acquired the renamer dot com domain. The COO is confident users will benefit from the new version, "We invested strongly in making file renaming both easy and enjoyable."

Features:
* Search and replace for text in filenames
* Insert, overwrite and remove characters from filenames
* Number files
* Convert between upper-, lower- and mixed case
* Group rename task into chains
* Rename directly from Finder with the system menu plugin
* Randomly rename files

Pricing and Availability:
Renamer 4.0 is $29 (USD), and available as a free download from the Renamer website. It runs initially in a 15-day trial mode with all features active. This is a paid upgrade for registered users.
