The iPhone 6s camera has been reviewed by DxO and although it performs well, Apple hasn't managed to increase the camera's DxOMark score.

DxOMark is an industry standard for camera and lens image quality measurements and ratings. To calculate the score, ISO sensitivity, Noise, Color sensitivity, Sharpness, Distortion, Light transmission, Vignetting, and Lateral Chromatic Aberration are examined.

For the iPhone 6s, Apple equipped the rearward iSight camera with the same lens and field of view as the iPhone 6, but it features a new 12-Mpix, BSI 1/3”- type sensor and the ability to record 4K video.

Photo Results:
● Pros: Very good exposure overall, Fast and generally accurate autofocus in all test conditions, Reliable and pleasant white balance in most conditions, Good detail preservation in bright light.
● Cons: Some luminance noise visible, especially in low light, Some color shading visible in indoor conditions, Slightly yellow cast visible in outdoor conditions, Occasional ghosting and other artifacts.

Video Results:
● Pros: Fast, accurate and smooth autofocus in all conditions, Good overall exposure and white balance, Effective stabilization in good lighting conditions
● Cons: Noise noticeable in low light conditions, especially in image corners, Slight color shading visible in low light conditions.

The iPhone 6s camera achieves a score of 82. The same given to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. It's outperformed by mobile device cameras from Sony, Samsung, LG, and Motorola.

.... don't know why I'm bothering but... SONY make cameras and have done for many years, for professionals around the world selling for thousands! They know a little about cameras!! Apple take bits and put them together! WELL! So in short I'd expect SONY to top any chart.... But I didn't buy my phone for JUST pics.... DID YOU??

I'll be you weren't hunting for conflicts of Interest when the iPhone was listed FIRST in DxoMark's comparisons. But now that they aren't, you're frantically grasping for anything you can to discredit it. Nothing you've said in any way proves their methodology was dishonest or fudged.

Fair point. Never heard of them before yesterday. Disclosure should happen no matter what the iPhone camera ranking is or any other phones. I don't care if the iPhone has the best quality camera in the world. A company that sells a Camera as an accessory, should disclose on its reviews. That's just good ethics. Sites reporting the reviews should also look to see if there's a conflict of interest.

Bottom line they sell equipment directly competing with iPhone camera. I can only see an iPhone only version when I access the site. I clarified and DxO should be more transparent on this I'm sorry I got the link wrong

From the bottom of the review(1): "DxO - THE COMPANY BEHIND DxOMark"(2) - DxO sells the "DxO ONE. The professional-quality connected camera that pairs perfectly with your iPhone, so you can take amazing photos anywhere." This review is from a company whose MAIN PRODUCT is a iPhone Camera accessory to replace the embedded iPhone camera. Wow, no mention in the review or this article. #FUD #CONFLICTofINTEREST #ETHICSinJOURNALISM ? 1- http://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles/Apple-iPhone-6s-review-Solid-and-compelling-performance 2 - http://www.dxo.com/

Wow that's funny, the link you posted doesn't work.....most people won't check it and believe your telling the truth. If what you say is true the company could have easily fudged the numbers to make the iphone look better, but didn't.

wtf, who cares about making the phone look better if it's always being the same design as it's pedecessor unless the new iPhone doesn't have an s in the name? If you want it to look better, do it yourself like me.

6S plus has a great camera, but 6S vs 6; 6S has only more pixel. But one question, did he turn off live photos? Because photography is much better quality when live photos is turned off
