These are instructions on how to burn a DVD that can play in your standalone DVD player from a VIDEO_TS folder using Mac OS X Terminal.
A VIDEO_TS folder is obtained when you have copied or ripped data off a DVD.
Step One
Place the VIDEO_TS folder on your desktop.
Step Two
Launch Terminal from your Applications:Utilities folder.
Step Three
Enter the following command into the Terminal window.
hdiutil makehybrid -udf-volume-name DVDNAME -o ~/Desktop/filename.iso ~/Desktop
Replace 'DVDNAME' with the name you want to want to assign to the disc. Replace 'filename.iso' with a name for a disc image generated by the command.
Step Four
When hdiutil completes the iso file generated will be placed on the desktop. Hold down the Control button and click the file to bring up the contextual menu. Then choose Disk Utility from the Open With menu option.
Step Five
Select the iso from the list on the left of the Disk Utility window.
Then click the Burn button from the toolbar to burn a disk which will work in your standalone player.
