Berbie Software has announced RaceBunny 1.0, an app for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. RaceBunny is a companion app for TrailRunner 2.1, the famous Mac OS X application for outdoor enthusiasts. Focused on any kind of outdoor activities like running, biking, hiking or inline skating, TrailRunner offers many route planning and journaling features.

RaceBunny complements this by being the first iPhone app where users can send routes planned in TrailRunner to the iPhone and follow the course during their outdoor activities. RaceBunny displays the course on either satellite images or topographic maps provided by the well known GoogleMaps internet service. At the same time users can record the activity within RaceBunny and later send the recording back to TrailRunner, journal the activity in the diary and analyze the data with advanced tools.

Other features of TrailRunner are a route planner using the streets network of openStreetmaps.org, the ever growing international mapping community. Automatic route calculation on distance and attractiveness. An activity diary including publication on MobileMe. Several workout histograms, editors and analysis tools for measured data like geographic course, speed, distance, heart-rate, personal aerobic zone and more. Additionally the integrated exercise plan can help users to improve their base endurance in small and adaptive steps.

Pricing and Availability:
RaceBunny is available for free on the App Store. TrailRunner 2.1 is free but the author thankfully accepts donations.
