Apple has started selling official Apple Watch lugs to be used in third-party bands that follow the company's Band Design Guidelines. Each stainless steel lug is marked as 'Made for Apple Watch', verifying their authenticity.
The lugs are available in 38mm and 42mm sizes. Other color options such as Space Gray, Space Black, Yellow Gold, and Rose Gold are not yet available.
An Apple Watch Lug Assembly Guidelines document has been provided with the company noting that "Proper assembly of the lug is critical to ensure your band securely attaches to the Apple Watch."
Manufacturers can purchase lugs in sets of 25 or 200 from Avnet with prices ranging from $278.75 USD to $1,836.00 USD.
