As previously predicted, Apple has replaced the iPad Smart Signs in its retail stores with new on-device 'Pricing' apps. Mike Cronin spotted the new apps earlier today.
"This is actually a really good idea", said Cronin. "The iPad Smart Signs made everything look so messy. This approach is much better IMO. A lot cleaner."
The app is loaded up onto Macs, iPhones, and iPads throughout the Apple Store. On the iPhone and iPad there is a new Pricing app icon on the SpringBoard. Macs have a floating box at the top left corner of the screen with model information and a button to compare prices.
The space freed up by the removal of the iPad Smart Signs will allow for more demo stations. Check out a few photos of the new apps below. If you've been in the Apple Store recently, let us know what you think about the change.
