These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone 6 Plus, 6, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s on iOS 8.1.3 - 8.4 using PP 2 for Mac OS X...

If you aren't already at iOS 8.4 we suggest upgrading to the latest firmware using iTunes. You can find download links for iOS 8.4 here. We've also posted instructions on how to update the firmware of your iPhone. Please note that you must update using iTunes rather than Software Update. If you used Software Update you should do a backup then restore to iOS 8.4 using iTunes.

Step One
Download the latest version of PP 2 then double click the dmg to mount it.

I Restored the phone to try again despite the instructions saying nothing about this unless one's been backing up via iCloud (I don't). Now I start PP and it says "Jailbreak failed! Detected unfinished backup. Please unlock device and try again". There is no 'unfinished backup'. I don't even know what they are referring to by "please unlock device".

Doesn't work. I felt if iClarified listed it, it was 'vetted'. :( Stuck at 'Preparing' over and over again. I've followed the instruct perfectly.

when you put it to factory reset, do you restore your back up via iTunes prior to JBing it?

I did exactly as David12345678. When you don't enter your iCloud info, there will not be an option to Turn Off Find my iPhone as there is no cloud login. apart from that, follow his instructions and you'll be jailbroken

Followed David 12345678's method after several failed jailbreak attempts stuck at step 2... and still no joy. Now the process gets stuck at "Please wait a few seconds. If you enabled password protect, please unlock your device." The progress bar looks exactly halfway along. I've tried several times using this "new" method, and still no success. Vanilla iOS feels like such a step down! >_<

I jailbroke IPhone 5 and Iphone 6 on 8.4 software using these methods, but it does not work with a new Iphone I purchased today (weird). I am running into the same trouble that it gets stuck on "please wait a few seconds.... I noticed that it restores the phone instead of jailbreak. pls help.

Revolva, after PP restarts you device, I only swipe open past the Welcome screen and then leave it to display the white continue screen. I do not go past this point in my process. I have also found if you do multiple attempts it's best to have a long break in between attempts with even a shutdown of your Mac.

Guys I had the same problems that people have in here! But now I made it! Download the Pangu program from the official website. Than run it. I have tried for 5 times than I finaly have this idea. So go to pangu official website and download the dmg file from there. I made it with airplane mode set on.

What is the URL to the official 8.4 jailbreak site? As http://en.pangu.io/ doesn't list 8.4 and a Google search isn't doing much good.

Anybody else having issues with PP not recognizing your iphone 5? Ive tried updating through itunes, restoring and reztoring from scratch. No matter what, the jailbreak tool does not see the phone, and thw jailbreak button never lights up to start the process. Im going to try a virtual machine and use a windows jailbreak now.

It seems as if there are 3 important preliminary steps to follow: 1. Back-up manually to your Mac (or iCloud). Don't use back-up from iPhone or iPad. 2. Restore using iTunes to iOS 8.4. Do not update using iPhone or iPad. 3. Set "Airplane Mode" to on. Jailbreak.

Back up phone, Update through iTunes, restore to new phone. Turn off passcode, turn off find my phone, force quit out of iTunes, turn on airplane mode. Jailbreak took about a minute. You cannot restore from previous back up, If you do not restore to a new phone you will def get stuck on step 2. Performed on mac mini.

Hi I find whenever I am resetting the device it now starts with 8.4 even though I originally did an OTA to 8.4. How do I reset so it allows me to restore to 8.4 via iTunes?

JBker
JBker - July 14, 2015 at 10:19pm
OK, tried to JB after updating. Dint work. You need to restore to latest firmware so phone is like new. The do a MANUAL backup in iTunes. Then you can jailbreak. If not you'll get stuck at 2/8 by not restoring. Or You'll get stuck on 5/8 if you didn't manually backup.

still doesn't work! did i HAVE to update to iOS 8.4 via iTunes? cause i did it via iPhone update on my iPhone. if so then how do i update it to 8.4 via iTunes when its already updated?
Spartacus
Spartacus - July 14, 2015 at 8:39pm
@CITY023....You will need to restore on 8.4 via iTunes first. Remember to back-up MANUALLY first. After restoring via iTunes you can redo the Jailbreak.
