Apple is reportedly working on future iPhone designs with no button and ultra-thin displays that integrate fingerprint sensors, reports DigiTimes.
Apple is internally developing touch and display driver integration (TDDI) single-chip solutions for its iPhones, according to sources in Taiwan's IC design industry. The TDDI single-chip solutions will also come with integrated fingerprint sensors, said the sources. The integrated design would fit into future iPhone designs – models with ultra-thin and ultra-narrow displays, and with a whole plane design eliminating the Home button.
DigiTimes notes that the expansion of Apple's in-house design business could have a significant impact on the global semiconductor industry. Apple already develops CPUs for its mobile products including the Ax and Sx line of SoCs.

The one hand use on iPhone is still here, that's why Apple finally came with the solution that has been mentioned countless times on the 6 and 6 plus. One hand use is what happened here. Why would Apple put anything else on the bezel? Not once has anything been added to he bezel, but haven't you tried adjusting it yourself in the setting. If here were to fix it if they haven't yet, then it's going to be put on screen since that's how it was always done, but hence you can just swipe from the left side of the iPhone to do that or use Siri. Samsung may have done phablets first but iPhones took that advantage far further ahead. They aren't afraid to copy but it's a long shot to copy this. This is what simple is all about!
Why would they do that? I understand that the 6 repositioned the button but it's still on the side. That logic isn't like the one you're hinting at, but the phone would have to be bulky and built like the watch in order to do that. Just reasons.
Just the button itself, not what helped revolutionized what it did itself and for all the helpful stuff used for. Without the home feature, there would be a huge screw up and I mean HUGE,
Too late how? Most android had a fingerprint scanner because of Apple and is continued to be copied. You think Apple would integrate the home button like android yet does android home button with the scanner while being button less? If Apple were to make an integrated home button with the scanner itself, does that mean others done it yet? Not to mention the home button is on screen compared to what Apple hasn't even confirmed yet and may still be within the bezel. Tell me which android does any of this! LawlolawlolawlolawlxDxDxDxD
There will ALWAYS be a home button, if anything they'll move it off the screen to increase the real estate or reduce the size. But you can't just integrated on the screen because it'll interfere with the functionality of the apps... there would have to be a "dead zone" that the apps can't use because it's reserved for the home button function, that would be stupid.
A good solution for that would be to lace the speackers around the screen which is very much possible by simply placing the actual speaker behind the screen and designing a sound guiding system which would deliver direct and greater sound instead of it dipping to de bottom and having to put your head to hear in a noisy place
Also, it was recently reported that apple has developed/invented a metal that is invisible to radio frequencies which would allow for a sleek non-devided back of the phone. Essentially you would have something that is simply a display and a solid back with perturbed buttons. Next step after that would probably be tactile buttons on the metal itself which will be interesting to see be pulled off.
What if the operation system all the app freezes how do you back out do you have to shut your phone all the way down to back out of the touchscreen if it freezes up.
In the developement there is a way to link certain functions to work directly with the device without having to bypass certain processes like in the case of the home button which work both with and without the OS. When you're turning on your phone it works without it Nd works directly with the start up systems. The force touch integration would work just like the home button but without the physical button there - this would serveto hard Reboot the phone in case of any emergencies.
The integration would be the Display with the fingerprint scanner as well as the integration of Force touch allowing you to interact with it in the same way as the Apple watch
Maybe there will be a always on mode that the sensor will activate once touched. The phone is never actually off anyway. So this could work. Just a matter of getting use to. Hahaha.
