Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge vs. Apple iPhone 6: Speed Comparison [Video]

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge vs. Apple iPhone 6: Speed Comparison [Video]

Posted March 6, 2015 at 5:33pm by iClarified
Check out this speed comparison of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge vs. Apple iPhone 6. The video was created by PhoneArena at MWC in Barcelona, Spain.

PhoneArena says that the Exynos 7420 tops in the A8 in multi-core benchmarks but that the A8 wins in single-core tests. We'll publish these comparison benchmarks once there are more Galaxy S6 benchmark results to average out. Instead of posting synthetic tests, the site decided to compare real-life experience when it comes to opening the most used stock apps on a phone, like the contacts, messaging, camera and so forth.

As you can see in the video below, the two phones are almost neck-and-neck when it comes to app launching speeds, which is more of a tribute to the top-shelf RAM and storage tech in the S6 edge, since Samsung's TouchWiz overlay is usually quite heavy to push around, especially on a Quad HD display like the one in the S6 edge.

Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think in the comments...

when it comes to different cars, all have different things that are better than each other like gas, mph, easy to control, the way things fit, long lasting, but compared to phones, it all ties down by texture, design, things you do with it, and how long you can use it in terms of battery life, and how it changes the way we use it.

I'm really loving that metallic color on the s6. Really thinking about exchanging my iPhone 6 to the galaxy s6. Looks like touchwiz is toned down a bit. Really excited about this release!

I wouldn't risk it. I was eventually a former Galaxy user and have been since iphone made a big screen phone.

I've had a galaxy before and I loved it. I always used a different launcher so I didn't care to much about touchwiz. Switched to the iPhone to try something new. I like it but I do miss my galaxy and this phone looks amazing.

Wtf!!! Stop comparing a year old iPhone 6 to a new release G6.... Of course the later will perform better, but just wait till 6s comes and it'll yet again be compared to G6 which of course the later will be better....

Too true; and this benefits the consumer, because when there is an advanced technology/feature in one phone, then other manufacturers will either improve their next iteration of their phone or incorporate the same technology/feature with even better capabilities.

maybe try turning reduced motion on and the iphone be way faster.

Honestly, they both suck. What I don't understand is the Quad HD display that Android manufacturers are going for. What's the point of it really? 1080 x 1920 was an overkill anyway. And iPhone 6 sucks in battery life.

there are motion powered chargers to get the phone all day battery wherever you go because they don't require electricity.

video is a crap. only testing the pre-loaded app. no camera testing, no browser testing, no game testing.

Samsung is the clear winner! You can clearly see that the Samsung is pulling much more data (images AND text) at the same speed as the iPhone pulls up only text.

I once tested against this and I did every tip and trick to make my iPhone faster and is near on par.
Great!

Should test the speed after a few months. See if there's any sluggishness.
rjwgump
rjwgump - March 9, 2015 at 1:45pm
You're probably right, after a few months, the iPhone 8 should be out and the 6 will be obsolete and after upgrading the iOS on you're 6, should be slow.

Samsung the true clone.

This individual has no idea how to perform a test. Neither is valid as a winner because gaming and Internet was not tested. Until somebody actually has the phone and are able to use a software to test both devices side-by-side, I do not care for this result. Too many flaws And too many variables will not give you the desired results.

hats off to iphone. If they beat competition in sales and satisfaction surveys, that sums it all up to tell who's obviously taking he crown here.

With Samsung you get a device with more ram, speed ( on paper ) , battery but with apple you get a complete package so it is hard to choose between them
gamerscul9870
gamerscul9870 - March 6, 2015 at 10:11pm
The choice is simple. Iphone! If you don't mind spending a few more second waiting, then choose this, but if you would risk having bugs and crashes with everything out of the box, good luck taking advantage of it because that's the choice for galaxy. Besides, the next iphone will be as fast as any new 2015 phone.

I don't see how this adds up. Both apps load at the same time, but not even the Internet or game loading was tested.

The S6 edge looks gangster, the iphone 6 looks neat and elegant

Although the S6 is a nice phone, I still standby my point that the iPhone 6 is the better of the two as the design is simply stunning.
