The Michael Report claims that Apple plans to unveil its rumored 12-inch Retina MacBook Air at the 'Spring Forward' media event scheduled for March 9th.
Many are expecting Apple talk more about the Apple Watch. However, sources familiar with the matter within Apple have exclusively told The Michael Report that Apple plans to unveil the long-awaited Retina MacBook Air at the same event. The Michael Report has independently verified this information to be highly credible.
Details about Apple's upcoming 12-inch MacBook Air were recently leaked alongside mockups that depict what the compact notebook will look like. The notebook is said to be considerably smaller than the 13-inch version and slightly narrower than the 11-inch model. The display bezels have been reduced in size on all sides. The keyboard sites nearly edge-to-edge and the keys have been redesigned so they are slightly closer together. The trackpad no longer has the same click that most MacBooks feature, perhaps to help reduce the thickness of the device. Overall, the notebook is said to feature a teardrop-like, tapered design that gets thinner from top to bottom.
It's rumored that the device will have just a headphone jack on the left and a USB Type-C port on the right.
In January, a report claimed that Apple supplier Quanta Computer had started ramping up production of the 12-inch MacBook Air for a release in the first quarter of 2015.
