Verizon may be racing to complete its LTE service in time for the Apple Tablet launch expected in early 2010.

According to a TechCrunch source, Verizon is aiming to have its LTE service ready in 20-30 markets by the first quarter of 2010. These markets were originally targeted for service by the second half of 2010.

Their source had no specific information on a Verizon/Apple deal; however, he mentioned talk of at least one dongle free product that the LTE launch was specifically geared towards.

It would be nearly impossible for AT&T to support an additional wireless device without sacrificing quality of service.

Verizon's LTE ("Long Term Evolution") network, has performed impressively in initial tests providing transfer rates up to 60 Mbps.
