Apple to Start Selling Sim-Free Unlocked iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in the U.S. Tomorrow?

Apple will start selling fully unlocked, SIM-free iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones in United States beginning tomorrow, according to 9to5Mac. Several sources tell the site that the unlocked phones will be available online and in retail stores.

Currently, Apple sells the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in the U.S. either via a carrier contract or unlocked on T-Mobile. Tomorrow’s change means that Apple will sell the latest iPhone models with no SIM-card so that customers can use the phone anywhere in the world on any supported carrier by bringing along their own SIM-card.

The pricing of the device should line up with the unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. That starts at $649 for the iPhone 6 and $749 for the iPhone 6 Plus.

Typically, Apple starts selling a SIM-free version of its iPhone a couple months following its release; however, the high demand for the iPhone 6 likely delayed its SIM-free availability until now.

It's the almost the same phone as T-mobile but without a SIM card. So if you think removing the T-mobile SIM card is hassle then this is the phone for you.

Recks, I always buy the T-mobile version and I assure you that it is 100% unlocked. You don't need to do anything or check anything, it is unlocked.

Now this is confusing, I thought the phone I bought in Apple Store 6 for T-Mobile isn't unlocked already? Wouldn't it work with all international carriers?

Not sure, but I though they were unlocked. I have an Apple Store T-Mobile iPhone 6 as well, all paid up front. Maybe try an AT&T SIM card in it...

T-Mobile and AT&T uses GSM. 80 - 95 Percent of the world uses GSM Frequency. Unless you intend to save a little bit of money for international use, I would make sure you can put another sim card in it. The best way to say money is to simply.. Download a Text free App and register the app on the countries code or use your Google Voice Number (If you have one) they are both free. If you are going to be receiving calls from the international locations, I would simply open a new email and get a google Voice with the countries code. The least technical way for last minute is simply buy an international phone from most airport vendors or call you carrier to give you a certain allotment of use at that particular part of the world. I personally use Skype or GV when I travel.
