San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was fined $10,000 by the NFL for wearing Apple Beats headphones during a post-game press conference, reports ESPN.
Following a deal with Bose, the league banned the use of Beats headphones by players while on camera. That ban applies to pre-season training camps, practice sessions, and game day - starting before the opening kickoff through the final whistle. It remains in place until 90 minutes after the play has ended.
Despite Kaepernick's headphones being bright pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, the league fined him $10,000 for the indiscretion.
While the player has an endorsement deal with Beats, it's still unclear who paid the fine. When asked about it, Kaepernick said, "I'm going to let that be unanswered."
