Apple released iOS 8.0.1 earlier today that brought HealthKit app support and other bug fixes. Unfortunately, it looks like Apple introduced new bugs with the release of iOS 8.0.1.
We received reports that the update causes cell service and Touch ID issues. Users constantly see 'Searching' or 'No Service' in the place of the carrier's text. In addition, Touch ID is completely broken. From what we understand, the issues are centered around the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus -- other iPhone users are not reporting any major issues.
We recommend that users hold off on updating, until Apple releases another update to fix these issues. If you've already downloaded, you can downgrade to iOS 8 for a limited time.

Update:
Apple has pulled the software update to iOS 8.0.1.
