Apple's gameplan for the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in its retail stores has leaked. A copy of the documents provided to store employees was posted by 9to5Mac today.

Apple is expected inventory of the iPhone6 and iPhone 6 Plus to arrive as early as Wednesday, September 17th. The store's retail inventory specialists have been told to “hold back 4% of overall inventory by SKU (minimum 1 device/SKU) for DOA holdbacks.” This is to make sure that if any customer has an issue with their device, they will be able to bring it back for an immediate replacement.

Between 5 am and 8 am, Apple employees are encouraged to "Celebrate this moment. The excitement of this day begins with you! Share that positive energy with customers when recognizing the line."

The line will be split between walk-in customers and personal pickup customers. Walk-in customers will be given Reservation Passes. This a new digital queue system that replace the physical product reservation cards Apple used to use. If you don't have access to text or email you'll still get a physical card. Apple will also pass out refreshments during this time.

At 8 am one person will be assigned to the front of each line to match each customer with a Specialist. The Specialist will either confirm Reservation Pass numbers or scan the Ready For Pickup barcodes and accompany the customer to the Genius Bar to pick up their iPhone.

The Specialist is instructed to share enthusiasm and present a complete solution including the positioning of accessories, Reuse and Recycling, and Apple Care. Every customer will be offered Personal Setup. Express Workshops are also available.

Customers who choose not to participate that day will be given 'Icing' cards inviting them to return another day.
