New screenshots have leaked from inside Foxconn that purportedly reveal the exact dimensions of the next generation 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6.
The images were posted by iGen.fr. They show a product overview and cosmetic comparison of the different models.
Details for two prototypes of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 are shown. The final version version measures 158.07mm long x 77.79mm wide x 7.1mm thick. The camera protrudes out to 7.77mm and it weights 184.6g. An earlier prototype was 158.00mm x 77.12mm x 7.0mm and weighed 168.5g.
The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 measures 138.14mm long x 66.97mm wide x 6.9mm thick.
Notably, the site reports that its source says Apple has chosen to equip the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 with a higher capacity 2915 mAh battery. This lines up with a previous leak.
The Apple logo on the back of the device is said to be 'well cut and in a matter reminiscent of stainless steel'.
iGen says that Apple was considering the switch to a smaller 2.5mm headphone jack. In the end they will continue to use the 3.5mm jack; however, some manufacturers had already started production of adapters which may now be difficult to unload.
Finally, case manufacturers are said to be ready for the new design and Apple stores have allegedly begun placing orders.
