A new report citing supply chain sources claims that LG Display will be the largest supplier of displays for the upcoming iPhone 6. According to the report, LG Display beat Samsung, Sharp and Japan Display to be the main supplier for the displays that will ship with Apple's flagship smartphone.
Back in May it was believed that Innolux would be the third supplier for 4.7-inch iPhone 6 displays, joining LG Display and Japan Display. Samsung and Sharp were ruled out early on due to quality assurance issues.
Unfortunately the report does not indicate whether the LG Displays would be supplying sapphire displays. The Wall Street Journal originally claimed that Apple would keep iPhones with sapphire displays exclusive to high-end models.
The iPhone is expected to ship in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes, however there is a possibility the larger 5.5-inch model will not ship until after the 4.7-inch device.
