John Gruber of Daring Fireball says that Apple will announce its 'wrist wearable thing' next month. He made the prediction in a post discussing the Moto 360 design.
It looks like Motorola’s designers tried to draw as much attention as they could to the 360’s stupid flat-tire display shape.
The only way this could get funnier would be if it doesn’t even ship until after Apple announces their wrist wearable thing next month.
Gruber is a respected journalist with good sources and an excellent track record in predicting Apple releases. Previous rumors have pegged the iWatch for a December release; however, if Gruber is right, Apple could possibly unveil the device at its September 9th event.

Update: Gruber has clarified his earlier statements, and says he has no idea whether Apple is planning a wearable device for October or September and that he was just making a joke.
