You'll notice if you try to update your iPhone carrier settings using the final version of iTunes 8.2 the .ipcc files are greyed out. In order to re-enabled access to these files you will need to follow the simple steps below.

Make sure that iTunes is not running while you initiate the command. ALSO make sure you leave the parenthesis a.k.a. " in place right where they are, or you will fail. ALSO make sure you reboot your iphone after the changes, Assuming you are able to update the IPCC file correctly.

WOW GUY! Try Google, its kind of an innovative technology that lets you research many many things! Other than that, this only updates your carrier settings, has nothing to dod with jailbreak, or unlock. This ONLY UNHIDES the MMS and Tethering OPTIONS for your iPhone 3G. follow http://blog.iphone-dev.org/ if you wanna kno more about jailbreak. Also TRY GOOGLE! I should have invested stock 10 years ago!

Thanks for posting my comment in a tutorial! I cant take fll credit for it though, I found this on a website somewhere, I had to tweak it a little to get to actually work, but I hope this helps alot of people! AT&T USERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE MMS, THE FUNCTIONALITY WILL BE THERE, JUST NOT THE ABILITY.

You will have to Google (or whatever your fave search engine is) it. Just search for MMS & Tether AT&T US Carrier bundle, there are plenty of them out there.
