Quanta Computer will start mass production of the Apple iWatch in July, according to Reuters.

The iWatch will have a display that measures 2.5-inches diagonally and is slightly rectangular, revealed a source. The watch face is said to protrude slightly from the band, creating an arched shape. The device will also feature a touch interface and wireless charging capabilities.

The source said Apple expects to ship 50 million units within the first year of the product's release, although these types of initial estimates can be subject to change. The watch is currently in trial production at Quanta, which will be the main manufacturer, accounting for at least 70 percent of final assembly, the source said.

Reuters says that the start date of mass production and the extent of Quanta's involvement were not known until now. Mass production is set to start in July and the commercial launch will come as early as October, according to two sources.

A third source told the site that LG is exclusive supplier of displays for the initial batch of devices.

Finally, the iWatch is said to contain a sensor that monitor a user's pulse. Heptagon is pegged as a supplier for the sensor.
