Apple Files Trademark Applications for Healthbook, HealthKit, iResearch?

Apple may have filed trademarks for Healthbook, HealthKit, iResearch, and several other terms ahead of features to be announced at WWDC, reports MacRumors.

It's long been rumored that iOS 8 will feature an application called 'Healthbook' that will help users keep track of their fitness levels and vital signs. Several trademarks related to the Healthbook term have been found in Trinidad and Tobago, a favorite location for Apple to stealthily file trademark applications.

February filings for both 'Healthbook' and 'Health Book' have been spotted and "while information on the applications available online does not directly link them to Apple, circumstantial evidence suggests that they are indeed Apple's filings", says MacRumors.

Notably, filings for "Apple CarPlay" were submitted on the same day. About a month later Apple announced it was renaming iOS in the Car to CarPlay.

In addition to the Healthbook mark, it appears as though Apple has filed trademark applications for HealthKit, iResearch, and iReasearch.

All of the new health- and research-related trademark applications are filed under four international classes: 9 (computer software), 10 (medical apparatus), 14 (jewelry and watches), and 42 (computer hardware and software development services).

We'll be covering Apple's keynote on Monday, June 2nd at 10AM PT where hopefully the company will unveil its new health related features for iOS 8. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
