When Apple TV version 6.1 was released alongside iOS 7.1 back in March, many Dolby Digital surround sound users were only able to get stereo output from Netflix on the Apple TV. Complaints have been around the web, particularly on Apple's own support forums. Up until now, both Apple and Netflix have remained quiet on the issue.
In a statement provided to 9to5mac, Netflix has finally acknowledged the problem and is working to roll out a fix.

No word on when a fix will become available, but at least the company is aware of the issue. Some users have reported that 6.1.1 did fix the issue for them, but others have not had similar luck.
