ESM China analyst Sun Chang Xu has reportedly indicated that the iPhone 6's camera will feature electronic image stabilization rather than optical image stabilization, and a larger pixel size, according to GforGames.
Sun Chang Xu (the new chief analyst at ESM-China) has recently hit the Chinese social network known as Weibo with new bits and pieces of information regarding the iPhone 6′s camera. According to Sun, Apple’s next flagship phone will not use OIS. Instead, it will make use of Electronic Image Stabilization. In addition, the source has also suggested that the iPhone 6′s camera will boast a pixel size of 1.75 um, as opposed to the iPhone 5S’ 1.5 um. In general, a larger pixel size means a better picture, so that’s a plus.
It's suggested that EIS might be used instead of OIS to help Apple achieve a thinner device. Recent reports reveal that the iPhone 6 could be as thin as the iPod touch. Another report said that Apple's 5.5-inch iPhone 6, referred to as the 'iPhone Air', will feature a super thin design, so thin that suppliers are struggling to produce batteries for it.
Apple is expected to unveil a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 in the third quarter of this year and a larger 5.5-inch device in the 4th quarter. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
