Newly Leaked iPhone 6 Mold Reveals 4.7-Inch Display? [Photo]

A newly leaked mold from inside Foxconn may reveal that the iPhone 6 will have a 4.7-inch display. The mold was posted by Nowherelese and follows several schematic and mold leaks from yesterday.

I still believe that the parts to be produced using the mold will not be molded directly into it. Some of the holes that were drilled into the block in fact serve to fix the inserts which will form a crude which is then machined housing (finishes) using a CNC milling machine. Thus, and assuming that my theory is correct, the dimensions of the box will be determined by the widest part and not the bottom of the mold.

The site superimposed an iPhone 5s to fit the mold and measured the new screen size at exactly 4.7-inches. This is exactly the size widely rumored for the next generation device.

If the boxes iPhone 6 will actually be manufactured using the mold and assuming that my calculations are correct, this model should measure approximately 138mm long by 64mm wide and be fitted with a screen of 4.7 inches.

Take a look at the photos below. If you have any expertise in these molds please let us know in the comments.

This is a vacuum extraction mould, used to make cases, not iPhone unibody housings. Heated cold set plastic is placed over the mould and then a vacuum pulls the hot plastic into the mould, the male section is then pressed into the mould to complete the imprint, then spat out 10 seconds later. Even the 5c iPhones have a machined plastic unibody not a vacuum extraction one. And the word is MOULD!!!

I dont know if I believe this picture. The mold is being compared to an iPhone 4 or 4S this could just be a mold for the iPhone 5/5S/5C and people are just trying to pass it off

No matter what Samsung does, they could never compete with Apples, nothing is as fast or as reliable as apple's iPhone, since the 4s, in my opinion iPhone is the Leader and will always be

Apple never listen to what consumer wants. So what's the story they will cook up to justify the screen size increase. No wonder Apple losing more customers to Samsung.

I do listen but I don't just build crappy plastic phones that you end up spending the same amount on. My phones work and Samsung are all gimmick ideas that is not working in the real world. Nobody is losing to Samsung, people are making a decision base on cost and when you can get a smart phone for literally free or buy one get one free, of course you will see a temporary shift. But after a month or so and if they are smart enough, they end up dumping the Samsung brand for it sucks and simply not design to work in real environments. There is something we call doing it right or just good enough...Samsung is just good enough for those who like the idea that fluff is the way to invest my money.
