The iPad Air reigned supreme in a tablet battery life shootout performed by which.co.uk. The test compared the iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini, iPad 2, Tesco Hudl, Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, Kindle Fire HD, Nexus 7 (2).
The iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display and iPad 2 all performed better than the Android alternatives for web browsing. On a full tank, Apple’s iPad Air will last for 658 minutes of web-browsing – beating the 483 minutes offered by the longest-lasting Android tablet we tested, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition). Likewise, the iPad mini with Retina display features an impressive 614 minutes of internet usage, while Apple’s three year old iPad 2 managed a sterling 590 minutes.
When testing how much video the tablets could play in one charge, the iPad Air was victorious as well. It offered 777 minutes of battery life. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 lasted for 714 minutes finishing in second place and the Google Nexus 7 ran for 669 minutes coming in third.
I do not know what about the others, but in my case, i found tablet very useful for gauching, traveling and for wasting time. But what is important in my case is, that when i fully charge battery on my iPad 2 and I'm going to put it in the bag, where it spends most of it's time, but always close to me. I can rely on one thing and that's one of most important in my case. When i need to use my iPad after 17 days, i can take it from my bag and I know that there will be enough capacity of battery, to be able to reply all the emails, check iclarified, theverge, engadget, play flappy bird for while and then put it back. What i found for most of androids. (In my case NEXUS 7) - is that when i try to take it from my bag i usually found that device fully discharged in 3 maximum 4 days. Even if i was not touching it. So anyway, your charts are really nice and differences are really small, iPad in my bag can stay alive for almost month and there is nothing to change about this. Yes and I forgot to mention WIFI is enabled all the time, and when my bag is lying on the ground i can sometimes hear how messages, iMessages are coming to my iPad even when I'm not using it. almost instantly when I'm receiving those on iPhone. Hopefully this has not been changed within iPad Air, and other guys here can confirm.
My ipad retina has been more than 20 days in standby and when i picked it up it had nearly 30% of charge and lasted for one whole day with a lot of youtube and facebook going on! Got to love it!!!
To be honest I forget my retina ipad mini even has a battery life until the 2nd or 3rd day of use after full charge. I also have an ass load of running jailbreak data, it's awesome
