BioProtect, a highly anticipated tweak developed by Elias Limneos (SBRotator, CallBar, Aquaboard, AudioRecorder), lets you protect your apps with Touch ID and is now available for download in Cydia. A short teaser was posted about a week ago shortly after the iOS 7 jailbreak was released.

BioProtect allows you to add another layer of protection and set certain apps to require fingerprint authentication. For instance, you can set certain apps to not open unless you rescan your fingerprint (Ex Opening Photos will require you to scan your finger again to gain access to the app). It also listens to application launch events and blocks them from opening unless you verify your fingerprint -- so if you open the Messages app from your Phone app, BioProtect would know to request authentication

Update: For those of you experiencing heat issues on your iPhone 5s, the developer is aware has found the issue and already issued a fix. Be sure to update to the latest version found in Cydia.

Hey is there a tweak out there where if you want to send a message you must use touch ID to send it weather it's from the lock screen or from the banner or just in the messages app because I don't wanna just lock my messages app. If so please email me at edogstraus@hotmail.com

Please, make it work with iOS 7.1b3 again. That's probably latest jailbroken iOS version for a while.

The new update released today not working on 7.1 beta 3. Before the update it was working fine on my phone. Kindly request you to fix the bug so that i can use it on my iOS 7.1 beta 3. Thank you

it is not complete. The aim of such a feature is to protect INFORMATION such last conversations, message contents, and recipients. So then, what is the point of bioprint if one can acquire those informations by simply launching the multitask screen? It's actually a critical point since a user's text message tends to be less than 160 characters, therefore less than two lines contains 60% to 100% of the information. So by simply launching the multitask screen, one can get a pretty clear idea of your last 6 conversations. Same for any social interaction driven application. Therefore, to me this isn't fully complete. As for photo-related apps. And again, don't bother locking picture.app, since you can launch it from inside the camera.app

every time you relaunch the app including the switch requires a rescan of the fingerprint. of course you should not have any "previews" of messages in popups or messaging apps in the notification center. no you cannot access the photo app through camera. also will require a rescan of the finger. the iPhone is not a true multitasker and will require a fingerprint for every time the app is open when locked. but there is a bug. if you load the camera app from the lock screen and then load the photo, the phone reboots into safe mode. there is some problem. but loading the normal camera app from within the os and then accessing the photo has no problem with crashes. applocker is a little better in hiding apps because you can lock folders and store apps within the 2nd or 3rd folder page.

Applocker does the same thing and won't let siri through, which leaves me with full siri capability.

My Siri workaround is to disable Siri from settings and bio protect settings. Don't use Siri anyway.

Seriously, if I bioprotect my messages app, then my wife walks up and asks siri to "launch messages"....and siri does exactly that, how am I protected? I hope this gets fixed...

Did anyone notice that you can launch so-called "protected" apps with siri. This will need to be fixed for this app to have any relevance as a security feature on my phone.

Since bioprotect update, virtual home no longer works... And also, bioprotect vibration mode does not work. Hope an update of the two tweaks ( virtual home and bioprotect ) to make them compatible together.

Worked perfect for my iPhone 5s when I paid for it an downloaded from big boss did not got the hot issue as some other users ..when updated I scan my thumb to open apps ..after the apps open I lock my phone by pressing sleep button realize my fingerprint was malfunctioning to unlock my phone right after ...same process it keeps happening with the update of bioprotect that just got released

Emailed cydia author ...I'm sure he's aware. After installing my 5s got hot quick. Disabled until update to fix is applied. Cool app and concept for touch sensor.
