Useful Fruit Software is proud to announce Pear Note 1.2, the latest version of their note-taking utility for Mac OS X. At its core, Pear Note integrates audio, video, and slides with traditional text notes and stores all of this on a timeline for easy navigation. Pear Note 1.2 adds support for additional video cameras and higher resolutions, as well as sports an improved playback interface.
Pear Note records audio or video while the user takes notes, allowing the user to later find what was being said when they typed something. They can then play back the entire recording, or jump to the point they need to hear.
Pear Note 1.2 expands on Pear Note's ability to record video during a note-taking session. Pear Note can now record from many more video cameras, including DV camcorders and many webcams requiring 3rd party drivers. Also, Pear Note now supports a high quality, 640x480 recording mode.
Pear Note 1.2 includes numerous improvements to the playback interface. In addition to highlighting a character at the moment it was typed, the current word remains underlined to indicate where playback is at all times. To provide smoother playback, Pear Note can now auto-scroll the text, keeping up with the audio or video. Also, when clicking on text to navigate through the recording, Pear Note will now start playing shortly before the text was typed to provide users with context of what was being said.
Additional new features in 1.2 include support for Keynote 09 files, support for exporting slides as a PDF file, calculating timestamps for characters typed when not recording, and numerous other improvements.
Pear Note feature highlights include:
* Records audio, video, every keystroke, and slide changes
* Playback navigation utilizing text notes or slides
* Search to find notes quickly
* Rich Text notes
* Spotlight support for Pear Note documents
* QuickLook support for Pear Note documents
* Spell Checking
* Import and view slides from Powerpoint, Keynote, and PDF files
* Export text, audio, video, and slides
* Import audio and video
Pricing and Availability:
Pear Note 1.2 can be purchased for $39.99 (USD). A free fully functional 30 day demo is available for download.
