A survey by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster reveals that Apple has nearly caught up to demand for the iPhone 5s.
Munster's latest biweekly survey of 60 U.S. Apple Stores found that availability of the 5s has risen to 90% of all models in stock. Two weeks ago only 30% of models were in stock and at the beginning of October only 10% were in stock.
CNET notes that at this point last year, the iPhone 5 accounted for 95 percent of all iPhones in stock. However, availability of the iPhone 5s at AT&T and Verizon is better than it was for the iPhone 5 last year.
Ship times for the iPhone 5s via Apple's online store have improved as well. Currently, the wait is 3-5 business days for the iPhone 5s to ship. That's compared to 2-3 weeks earlier this month. Munster believes that supply of the iPhone 5s will meet demand in early December.
Munster also indicated that supply of the iPad Air should meet demand before the holiday season. Ship times are currently 5-7 business days for the tablet.
