Apple SVP Jonathan Ive and designer Marc Newson talk about their collaboration to create items for the Sotheby's (RED) charity auction on Charlie Rose.
The Sotheby's (RED) auction will take place in New York tonight, with all proceeds donated to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Africa.
Ive worked with Newson to provide items for the auction including a Mac Pro, Leica M for (RED), Apple EarPods in solid rose gold, a Hermès "Cavale" Saddle, a Unique Lamy 2000 pen set from Gerd Alfred Müller, The (RED) Desk, a unique "Red Pops for (RED)" parlor grand model A piano from Steinway & Sons, A Thermal Window for the US Space Shuttle on a Custom Stand, an "ARCO" lamp from Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Four "Birds" Chairs and "Petal" Coffee Table from Harry Bertoia and Richard Schultz, and a Range Rover.
