This is a camera comparison of the iPhone 5 vs. iPhone 5c vs. iPhone 5s.

In September, Apple introduced the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c devices to replace the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5s features a new sensor that increases the area available for pixels by 15 percent, has pixels that are larger at 1.5 microns in size, and sports an aperture of f/2.2 which lets in more light. All in all, the company says the iPhone 5s camera lets in 33% more light. The iPhone 5s camera also includes a new True Tone flash that is made up of two LEDs, one white and another amber. Software algorithms are used to assess the color temperature of the scene you're aiming at and then determine what percentage and intensity of white light versus amber light to fire the flash at. Finally, the iPhone 5s camera also features auto image stabilization and faster autofocus.

The iPhone 5c is believed to feature the same 8MP camera as the iPhone 5 with an aperture of f/2.4 and a back-side illuminated sensor.

Below you can see a series of photos taken with all three cameras. First is the iPhone 5, then iPhone 5c, then iPhone 5s. Click to make the photos larger.

As expected, the iPhone 5s handily came out on top. The new flash is a huge improvement, offering a significant increase in range. Noise is greatly reduced in low light photos and the iPhone 5s' photos demonstrate better color accuracy.
