BGR, who has been very accurate with iOS 7 beta release dates, is now reporting that iOS 7 beta 6 will be released next week. with a gold master (GM) release to select partners September 5.
When beta 4 was released, BGR claimed we would see two more betas and a GM release, so this news does not come as a surprise. The source did not give an exact release date for beta 6 other than next week. Select partners (ex carriers) and employees will receive the GM build September 5, which will most likely be the build the public receives -- barring any major bugs or problems that are discovered.
Once Apple and its partners are comfortable with the GM build, they will seed to developers on September 10, where the next generation iPhone is rumored to be revealed along with a new low-cost iPhone.
When released, iOS 7 saw a lot of criticism from designers and developers -- with hopes that Apple would fix them before GM. With just a few weeks, it looks like critics will have to wait for another iOS release before seeing any changes.
