Apple Reportedly Opening R&D Center in Taiwan for Next Generation iPhone Development

Sources claim that Apple is currently recruiting members to build a new research and development center in Taiwan to work on next generation iPhone products.

Internal communications from Apple, seen by VR-Zone, claim that the team will be creating new products and report directly to Apple's HQ in California. Hiring will being in September.

Apple is currently recruiting the following positions in Taiwan: Hardware Development Engineers (areas of expertise: audio, camera, sensors, power, analog, touch, RF, antenna, battery), Panel Process & Optics Engineers, Product Development Engineers, Product Development Engineer, Mechanical Engineers – Product Displays, Materials Technical Program Managers, Test Engineers, Software QA, Reliability Engineers, Product Safety Engineer – PD, Firmware Engineers, Engineering Program Managers

The report is unsure why Apple picked Taiwan for the location, but claims it was most likely wanting to have a team work closely with engineering elements of the processor supplier, Samsung, which has switched to local foundry Taiwan Silicon Manufacturing Company.
