Google will be replacing AT&T as the free WiFi provider for Starbucks stores in the US, bringing a 10x speed boost for 7,000 coffee shops in the US.
Google will be rolling out this faster WiFi across stores in the United States over next 18 months starting in August. Speeds will be 10x faster for all stores, but if you're in a city with Google Fiber (Austin, Kansas and Utah), you will see a connection thats 100x faster than current AT&T speeds.
Google says they'l be changing the SSID to "Google Starbucks," so users can know when their Starbucks store has been converted from AT&T.
