app4mac Releases SecretBox 1.0

app4mac has released SecretBox 1.0, a new product that allows you to keep your secrets in a safe place. Based on SecretBook source code purchased from BookShelfApps, SecretBox features an updated user interface, template management and more import possibilities. A version for iPhone is coming soon too.

app4mac acquired the intellectual property and source code of SecretBook in January and since this time was working for an updated version. BookShelfApps developer had no more time to update SecretBook as it needed.

In any business deal like this there is potential for difficulty, but app4mac have been really good to deal with on this transition. They've been easy to work with on the terms of the sale, and their developers have done a great job of updating the code in a short period of time. It's all looking good so far.


About SecretBox
You can use SecretBox to store all sorts of information: Credit Card details, SSN numbers, Software Licenses, e-mail account details, product registration codes and serial numbers. All are easily stored in SecretBox's flexible database. Most people will use SecretBox for personal use, but businesses can also use SecretBox for managing their customers passwords or for managing software licenses.

SecretBox uses the industry standard 256-bit AES encryption to protect your data, but that is just the start. SecretBox takes extra care to never decrypt your information unless absolutely necessary. Simple tools encrypt the entire data file in one operation and therefore have to decrypt everything to view just one item. Strong security does not have to be inconvenient. SecretBox puts you in control of how you want to organise your data. With unlimited groups and subgroups you can easily organise your secrets in a way that makes sense to you.

iPhone version
An iPhone version of SecretBox is coming soon and should appears on iTunes around March 24. The iPhone version will allows you to sync your database with the Mac version.

About RapidoSerial users
SecretBox is replacing our freeware RapidoSerial. RapidoSerial users can import inside SecretBox their previous database. RapidoSerial is a discontinued product.
