Apple to Update the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air at WWDC?

Apple is reportedly planning to update the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air at WWDC, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The notebooks will likely be updated to use Intel's Haswell processors. Although there was some discussion about Apple dropping its non-Retina display lineup, this supposedly won't happen yet.

Contrary to our previous projection, we now think Apple will continue to make the MacBook Pro alongside the MacBook Air and Retina MacBook Pro because the 13” MacBook Pro remains the most popular product in the MacBook line. Also, there is still demand in emerging markets, where Internet penetration isn’t advanced, for optical disk drives.

Unfortunately, Kuo believes Apple wont be updating the MacBook Air with a Retina Display due to cost, thickness, and production concerns.

The new MacBooks Pro are expected to ship soon after WWDC and the Retina Display MacBook Pros are expected to ship a little later.
