Faber Acoustical Announces dB

Posted February 6, 2009 at 9:26am by iClarified · 3795 views
Faber Acoustical has introduced dB - an iPhone app with a unique way of capturing the events of life. dB turns your iPhone or 2nd generation iPod touch into a simple sound level meter. With it, users can tag their happenings - the big game, standing on a mountain peak, or your best friend's wedding - in a unique, fun way. They can easily tag the moment with a photo, the current sound level, GPS locale, and more, then share it with their friends and family, or the world, via email or Twitter. Measure the sound of your life. Then share it.

Feature Highlights:
* Measure average, max, and peak sound levels with the built-in microphone of the iPhone 3G or Apple-branded iPhone/iPod headset microphones.
* Share the dB tag via photos, graphs, email, or Twitter.
* dB can measure peak sound levels of up to approximately 105 dB.

"We believe this introduces a great new way to look at the places you go and the things you do" said George Loch, Creative Director at Faber Acoustical. "After you start playing with it, it becomes rather addicting trying to get a great dB tag to represent the moment you're experiencing".

NOTE: Although it has been designed to make accurate measurements, with an appropriate microphone, dB has not been shown to meet ANSI or IEC standards for sound level meters.

Pricing and Availability:
dB for iPhone is only $0.99 (USD) and available exclusively through Apple's App Store.
