Netham45, a xda-developers forum member, has released a tool that lets ordinary users jailbreak their Windows RT tablets. The tool is based a jailbreak method recently detailed by clrokr.
Unfortunately, the jailbreak doesn't persist through reboots; however, simply rerunning the runExploit.bat file will restore the jailbreak.
The Microsoft Surface running Windows RT was released on October 26, 2012. About a week later, on November 2, 2012, Apple released its latest iPads; however, iOS users are still waiting for a jailbreak to be publicly available.
Planetbeing recently revealed that the Dev-Team is still looking for additional exploits and waiting for iOS 6.1 before a public release will be considered.
