Microsoft is giving props to security researcher clrokr who has developed a jailbreak for Windows RT allowing desktop applications to run on the ARM-based OS, reports The Verge.
A spokesperson was quick to "applaud the ingenuity of the folks who worked this out and the hard work they did to document it," in a statement to The Verge.
Microsoft says that running desktop apps on Windows RT is "not something the average user could, or reasonably would, leverage as it requires local access to a system, local administration rights and a debugger in order to work." The company also notes that it's not guarenteed that the vulnerability "will be there in future releases" of Windows RT suggesting they may patch the flaw in the future.
Pod2G already got his iPhone 5 iOS 6.0.2 jailbroken but he said that he won't release the jailbreak till after 6.1 is out so Apple won't block it, so there is no ETA yet but it will take a month or 2 for 6.1 to be out, I'm guessing it's a good and bad news all together.
You might not have said that explicitly on Reddit but most readers will have inferred it from what you did say—care to elucidate a little more here on when a jb release might be expected?
And kudos BTW for the exploits.
