Altomac today announced Filemailer 2.1, an update to their freeware file sending solution for Mac OS X. Saving both time and disk space, Filemailer is a handy utility that changes the way people share files via internet, and helps expedite the process of sharing files between computers. It is particularly suited to those who need to send files to clients where it is unnecessary to write out an accompanying email.

Every day, millions of people around the world send and receive email (especially between co-workers) whose sole purpose is to transfer files from one computer to another. However this process involves a considerable amount of time because of the number of conventions used when writing an email. But these steps shouldn't necessary. The aim of the email was just to move a file from one computer to another.

Filemailer avoids this by leveraging an easy-to-use template, and features a single, unified interface. All that is necessary is drag and drop one ore more files, and the application takes care of the rest. Just drag a file over the recipient and Filemailer automatically deals with the compression of the file, enters the name of compressed file in the subject line, inserts the pre-composed message in the body, and with just one click, dutifully sends the file.

Filemailer sports new improvements and fixes for all known bugs. Version 2.1 now offers support for drag and drop over the application icon, Dock's badges icons, and includes a new feature to make simpler the creation of SMTP accounts.

Language Support:
English, Italian, and French
